Opposite the Novotel at the north end of Patong Beach, perched on cliffs overlooking Patong Bay. This spectacular location offers a teak-floored foyer that leads to a lovely terrace that has the sound of crashing waves below.
Probably the most famous restaurant in Phuket, the reputation is well deserved. Dishes of food arrive on elegantly monogrammed china and each is accompanied by elegant garnishes of fruit and vegetables as would be expected by a place serving Royal Thai Cuisine. There is a good selection of appetizers, such as, curried fish cakes, and prawns and nut wrapped in an egg net. There are fish rolls with garlic sauce and honeyed chicken wrapped in pandanus leaves. Mee grob pad khee mao, fried crispy noodles topped with minced pork and basil leaves, is delicious. The deep-fried honey chicken in pandun leaves is authentic and delightful. Phad pak, stir-fried vegetables and prawns, is light and fresh while chicken satay is another nice choice.
A consistent winner of the Wine Spectator award, and with 808 different wines to choose from, Baan Rim Pa has one of the top wine cellars in the country.
The staff is friendly, well trained and the Thai waitresses are dressed in lovely Thai outfits.
