Owner and European trained head chef, Wicha Cavaliero, is the creater of the daily changing European / Western / Fusion type menu at this little gem just beyond Chiang Dao cave. Whenever possible, fresh ingredients, in season, are sourced locally, many from farmers and hilltribes in northern Thailand that provide a wide variety of fruit and vegetables. Favorites include pumpkin and orange soup, homemade pasta/lasagne dishes, patees, cakes & souffles, and exquisite three-course dinners ....all well worth the 1 hour drive, alternatively you can just stay the night in one of their 16 bungalows in a stunning natural unspoiled setting.
The menu includes a wide array of some adventurous, innovative creations each exquisitely cooked. Cuisine of a sample menu includes homemade cream of asparagus soup or roasted sweet pepper and goat cheese croutons for appetizers while main dishes offered may include pork tenderloin with blue cheese sauce, crispy parma ham and pan-fried potatoes, or the pan-roasted duck breast, caramelised pineapple and cracked peppercorn sauce, served with mashed potato is another favorite while fish lovers will enjoy the salmon steak, with saffron & white wine sauce served with minted new potatoes and vegetable. For dessert, don't worry about your waistline for this item as the devil's food chocolate cake with hot chocolate sauce is decadent but you may select the homemade apple tart, served with ice cream.
On Thursdays, the kitchen closes at 5:00PM for a buffet-style barbecue with dishes such as, masala marinated pork loin, mini chicken drumsticks, buffalo with black peppercorns, salmon steak, seasonal vegetables, salads, and more. Don't miss it …the barbecue is fun, delicious and more than a bargain.
