French - To Go

Located just a stone's throw from the Asok BTS station in the small shopping center next to the Times Square building, this eatery is easy to find. The owner, Marc, tells me that take-out shops like this one are very common in France so he brought the concept to Bangkok since we have nothing like it in the city. I asked him how they can sell their crepes and sandwiches so reasonably priced as the menu reflects most prices under 95 baht. He tells me "The most important thing is that we guarantee freshness. We use local in-season produce that is perfectly ripe and guaranteed fresh just the same as our breads are only served warm and always daily fresh".

Looking at the menu board I got such an appetite that I decided to order my lunch and enjoy it at one of the tables they offer patrons outside their restaurant. I started my meal with a latte, however, there is also cappucino, and expresso to be served hot or iced, as you prefer. Plus, hot chocolate or iced cocoa and a nice selection of Imported mixed & perfumed teas.

From the choice of 10 different selections, I chose a fresh baguette sandwich which are available with your choice of 3 different breads. The list of crepes include about 6 salty crepes and another 12 sweet crepes and I chose to also order a "Mushroom Crepe" with white wine sauce. Each item is made to order, 100% fresh, so it takes an extra couple minutes, but well worth it. They also have a nice Moulleux au chocolate and Chocolate Mousse that is made with real French cocoa.

Whether you are stopping by to pick up something for lunch or getting something to-go if you do not feel like cooking after work, it is very convenient, as they are open from 10AM until 12 Midnight. I can't really afford those expensive French restaurants, but French - To Go, that's my secret!
