Harminique Thai Cuisine and Seafood

Located off Charoenkrung Road, at Charoenkrung Soi 34, we're between the Oriental and the Sheraton Hotel and only about 10 minutes walk from the Shangri-La Hotel.

Entering the restaurant offers a visual surprise for patrons dining here for the first time. While the exterior is very indiscreet, the inside opens to a lovely central courtyard with tables scattered amongst lovely plants and greenery. The interior rooms are part of a charming century old townhouse, and like may of it's day, it offers beautiful woodwork and is host to a large selection of Chinese antiques, artwork and memorabilia scattered throughout the restaurant. The front of the restaurant offers patrons the "Happy Corner" gift shop as the restaurant is a family-run operation owned by three sisters whom all attend to their duties when the restaurant is open. Only one sister is a chef but all the sauces and dishes of food offered here are her creation.

The restaurant has earned a loyal following in it's 10 year history and the menu still offers many of the favorite dishes that were posted a decade ago. My dining partner and I started with the hors d' oeuvre platter which offers each guests a selection of appetizers: Spring Rolls- Soft Vietnamese Style, Chicken with Lemongrass, Crabs stuffed with crabmeat and a cup of Shrimp steamed in Wine Sauce. The platter is served with a sweet chilli sauce and 2 small sauce selections: one sweet and one spicy. Next, an order of Crab Curry; and this was a real hit as the crab meat is fried in a light yellow curry and served on a hot-plate. The crab meat had no fillers added, it is pure crab meat in a creamy curry sauce
