JJ's is reminiscent of an American 60's diner and is in fact a local chain with three locations. Each air-conditioned restaurant has spotless tables and booths while big windows face the street. There's a second branch at the Chiang Inn Plaza off the Night Bazaar and a third across the river at 129 Lampoon Rd.
By the time you pick up the 12 page menu, you begin to understand this establishment is not just fast food nor is it just a bakery, but it's both of those, plus a full restaurant as well, offering Thai, Continental and American food.
The menu begins with several breakfast sets, open at 6.30AM for the early riser with items at 99-139 baht. Bakery items are daily fresh and there are all day breakfast items such as ham and cheese omelettes with hash browns and cantaloupe for 89 baht.
Next are salads, 59-109 baht, burgers 79-109 baht, and a choice of homemade soups at 59 baht. The next page offers make-your-own sandwiches with different breads and fillingss at 59 baht; such as, cheese and avocado sandwich on focaccia bread. There is tom yums, stir-fries, salads (with their veggies organically grown on their own farm), and some Thai vegetarian dishes.
Continental main courses include pepper steak, grilled sea bass and pork chops at 159 baht; pizzas and spaghetti
