Middle Eastern food is a great break from the usual Northern Thai and/or Western fare offered in Chiang Mai. Jerusalem Falafel is Israeli of course, though many of the dishes are best described as 'general Mediterranean', while adding a few Greek and Italian favorites. Never the less, this is a rare chance to satisfy that taste for falafel & hummus with pita bread. The restaurant isn't fancy, but it's cozy and clean and emits that feeling of a family owned atmosphere. You can dine inside or out front on the terrace.
Unlike prices in the states or the UK, prices are pretty moderate with most dishes ranging 70 to 80 baht. Salads are exceptional, and you shouldn't miss the set of 'meze' dishes with pita bread, a collection of dips & sauces (most notably hummus and tzatziki), grilled meats, cheeses and falafel, the ground spiced chickpea (or garbanzo beans to Americans) balls that gave this place it's name. Eating 'meze' style is best enjoyed with a group of people so you can order lots of different things. This place is a small paradise for vegetarians with a nice selection of great items to choose from..
