"Amor" restaurant is located in the heart of South Pattaya's gay section, between Pattayaland Soi 2 and Pattayaland Soi 3. Offering International cuisine in a casual atmosphere, guests enter the restaurant via an exterior covered terrace where patrons and smokers may choose to eat. The interior offers tables fitted with linen and crown-back style rattan chairs with cushions. The adjoining bar offers a selection of cocktails, bar drinks, beer, and an adequate choice of wine.

My friend Alan and I chose to eat on the terrace. We had a good appetite after a day of jet skiing and we were looking forward to an enjoyable evening before he departed for Bangkok in the morning. We started with a bottle of French Cabernet Savignon. We ordered "Frito Misto", deep-fried breaded squid, prawns, clams, & mussels with tarter sauce as an accompaniment while we relaxed and enjoyed our conversation while watching the view of the people that wandered by.

The selection of menu items is varied. We started our meal with salad; Alan chose "Summer Salad", a medley of green beans, asparagus, tomato, snow peas, boiled egg, prawns and water chestnuts while I chose "Tomato & Mozzarella" with fresh basil and extra vigin olive oil. Each salad was ok but the tomato in both should have been more ripe. For main courses, Alan chose the "Salmon Fillet Richard" prepared with a sour cream and orange sauce poured overtop. He said the fish was excellent and he enjoyed it thoroughly. I selected "NZ Lamb Steak a la Greque" with slices of lamb (that should have been more tender) cooked with white wine, yogurt and fresh mint sauce. Both were accompanied by an array of vegetables and potato. I recommended that we celebrate Alan's last evening in Thailand with some dessert. My friend chose the "Lemon Meringue Pie", while I had the "Chocolate Fudge Cake". Both desserts tasted homemade and were very good.
