The restaurant has neither meat nor seafood and in the past I have been shy when it comes to vegetarian cuisine but there's nothing drab about this menu. For a starter my friend and I shared the Tempeh Tempura with Sweet & Sour Sauce and it was so good that I didn't want to share. I then had the Chef Salad and she had a Low-Cholesterol Caesar Salad. For a main dish I chose the Spaghetti with Sundried Tomato and Artichoke which is one of their 13 varieties and it was wonderful. My friend, Anna, opted for the Stir-fried Vermicelli with fresh Vegetables in Soya Sauce. I can only say that if this is vegetarian …Where have I been? Everything was great but they also serve homemade bakery goods, freshly baked every morning and they look so delicious that it's impossible to resist. The selection includes cakes, muffins, scones, cinnamon rolls, pudding, etc. I chose a gooey Cinnamon Roll with raisins and lots of cinnamon as it was more than a treat while my friend Anna selected a Banana Muffin that was equally delicious. They carry a wide range of herbal teas ranging from as simple as lemongrass, ginger, mint, bael fruit to the more complicated butterfly pea, five flowers, mint & pandan, four herbs (the one I tried with my cinnamon roll), and more.
Anotai is a graduate of the Cordon Bleu Academy in England and has an impressive knowledge of culinary matters. Her passion for cooking has led her to spread the word about the joys of vegetarian dining via this restaurant. For her, the rapid deterioration of the environment has meant people are consuming unhealthy foods.
Extremely concerned with health, she is very much involved in the ingredients. The main ingredients, vegetables, are served at Anotai from their own ‘certified organic’ farm in Ratchburi with a production area of 60 Rai. The farm is certified by The Organic Agriculture Certification Foundation of Thailand) with IFOAM Accredit, the International Standard accepted worldwide. |
