We arrived mid-week to enter to the sounds of live Indian style music, offered nightly which really projected the mood of dining in an Indian atmosphere. We were greeted by the manager, who chatted with us a few minutes after showing us to our table.
Our dining event started with a beer as they have the standard host of beer, soft drinks, a few free world wines along with cocktails and bar drinks. There is also an oversized TV for all the popular sporting events. Some tables are fitted with Indian style table-covers while the dining area is decorated in high fashion.
The task of selecting dishes from an Indian menu is often a challenge as the choices of tempting dishes are so vast. They offer at least 14 starters and about 10 salad and soup selections from which we started with "Onion Baji" and the traditional dish of "Vegetable Samosa". I also couldn't resist a bowl of "Mulligatwany", a thick lentil soup tempered with Indian herbs. The menu includes about 20 BBQ dishes and at least 40 choices of curry, of which at least 16 are vegetarian selections. Our first main dish was the "BBQ Tandoori Platter" which easily serves 3-4 persons as it offers chicken, lamb, fish tikka, and king prawns. We also enjoyed "Aloo Gobi", a dish filled with fresh cauliflower and potato along with some "Chicken Tikka Masala" and a couple orders of "Garlic Naan". As our food selections kept arriving I saw the faces of my 2 friends, one Japanese and the other Canadian, neither having ever tried Indian food till tonight and they both were obviously lovin it. We also ordered a dish of "Tandoori King Prawns" and a dish of "Biryani", with basmati rice, of course. All this with the help of some "Rasmalai", a popular Bangali dessert made for a memorable dining experience. The menu at the Sukhumvit location offers patrons the same choices.
