Bangkok’s only Cajun/Creole restaurant has brought the taste of New Orleans to diners for over 20 years. In the center of the room sits the bar, with one end facing the entrance of the restaurant, while another large dining room sits just to the left, offering a bit more private seating.

Starters include a host of great Cajun / American fare from nachos (covered with cheese and beef or chicken) to buffalo wings. Gumbo is a dish not to be missed, as is jambalaya with andouille sausage or crawfish, a signature dish with tomato sauce and Cajun spices lends the dish a unique taste. The jambalaya and the gumbo has brought my girlfriend and I back numerous times, not ever to be disappointed …with a cold beer, the meal is heavenly. Crawfish is available boiled, stewed with vegetables or in a thick, delicious bisque. While blackened redfish is a dish synonymous with New Orleans, the restaurant also offers shrimp and chicken versions. American staples such as barbequed pork ribs, hamburgers, pork chops, and steaks make up just one section of the menu, and some incorporate Cajun seasonings as well. Pecan pie (a true southern dish) or banana foster – fresh banana flambeed with ice cream — makes a nice finish.

For patrons wanting to get a real taste of Mexican food, Bourbon Street offers a quality buffet on Tuesday nights at a very reasonable cost. Dishes are authentic and there is nothing overlooked. The buffet includes everything from salad, nachos with real cheese, guacamole, and authentic home-made frijoles (Mexican beans). Tacos are offered with tortillas both soft and fried crispy with all the fillings, including black olive, cheese, and sour cream. There's delicious beef and chicken enchiladas, and even dessert …if you have room. This is a true way to experience that "south of the border" taste.
