Crystal Jade Palace is a fantastic way to try Chinese food as it was intended. Crystal lights and rosewood furniture host it's bright decor and from the aquariums of seafood-delights at the entrance you can survey the rows of big round tables packed with diners.
The food here is authentic Cantonese, prepared by Hong Kong master chefs. Dim sum, fresh seafood, and barbecue dishes accompany exotic shark's fin, baby and supreme abalone. For a unique soup, try the double-boiled winter melon with mixed meats, mushrooms, crab, and dried scallops served in the halved melon shell. The prawns in salted egg yolk are a must. Coated in egg yolk and deep-fried, the aroma of the yolk bring out the freshness of the prawns. Scallop dishes are very popular and can be prepared either sauteed with cashews, chile, and soy; pan-fried with chillies, white pepper, and salt; or sauteed with green vegetables. The tender pan-fried cod in light honey sauce proves worthy of its reputation as a time-honored favorite. There are also some selections of pork and chicken and to finish off the meal there are great desserts that include the walnut, black sesame and water chestnut creams.
