DINING SCENE
Pattaya has seen a property boom in the last few years which has brought the high end sector to the area with condos ranging from 8 or 10 million baht to almost 100 million baht. This so called "sleepy fishing village" now has new restaurants opening all the time and existing ones are revamping to compete in the higher demand for quality dining by discerning patrons that are accustomed to world-renowned chefs that offer the freshest fruits and vegetables with authentic imported ingredients, incomparable creativity from the kitchen and a better than average choice of fine wines. Two restaurants worthy of mention are located at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort. They are, the Grill Room and Wine Cellar and Rossini's Italian restaurant, both recipients of New York Wine Spectator awards. Even with this move toward up-market dining, it is still much cheaper to dine out in Pattaya than in Bangkok.
