With almost ten million people in Bangkok to entertain, plus a good number of visitor's, the kingdom's only major city has the majority of family attractions. There are two main amusement parks in Bangkok that are popular among Thai families and although not quite the standard of some attractions found in America, it's definitely worth a trip on one of those hot Bangkok days.

For tourists, Bangkok amusement parks are a fun way to break up the constant walking and sightseeing of a Bangkok holiday and a good way for the the kids to burn some of the energy they have stored while being tugged along with mom and dad only to be bored with all those temples and cultural attractions. Day trips to amusement parks can be arranged easily from hotels travel desks or travel agencies.
 

               SAFARI WORLD

Safari World BangkokSafari World, Thailand's most popular open zoo and show park. Covering over 200 acres, Safari World is made up of a Safari Park and a Marine Park, and offers a great variety of fun and entertainment for visitors of all ages and nationalities. A drive through the 100 acre Safari Park presents a unique opportunity for you to experience a close encounter with rare and endangered species. The feeding show allows you to get close to fearsome predators such as lions, tigers and bears. Marine Park plays host to a vast spectrum of animals from land, sea and air and is the setting for eight amazing world-class shows ranging from live action stunt spectaculars to performances by animals, including a dolphin show. An optional extra is the Jungle Cruise, a fun-filled water flume ride through uncharted territory, in a land inhabited by headhunters, gorillas and hungry crocodiles.
 

          SIAM WATER PARK

Super Slide at Suan Siam Water Park in Bangkok Suan Siam, as it is called by the locals, is relatively small in size. There's a giant pool complete with artificial surf, whirlpools, fountains & some  waterfalls. Tall waterslides are a popular choice for the bigger kids and adults. Aside from the water park itself, There are also some fun amusement park rides, like the roller coaster and a rolling giant-pinwheel ride.

 

Admission: Adults 200 baht, Children 100-150 cm 100 baht, Small kids less than 100cm are free of charge. 1 year member cards cost 390 baht for adults & 200 baht for children, giving you a 50% discount for up to 5 people. Location: The far eastern part of town, 101 Sukhapibarn 2 Road. Tell the taxi driver "Suan Siam". Open: ;10AM - 6PM (Mon - Fri), 9AM - 7PM (Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays)
 

Dreammy from Dream World in Bangkok 
DREAM WORLD

Head for Adventure Land, the bigger kids will enjoy exciting and challenging rides like Space Mountain, a high speed Roller Coaster traveling through space visiting other galaxies or why not experience Asia's very first hanging coaster and find out how brave you are. it is a place for kids of all ages with Snow Town, where you can build a snow man, visit Santa's house or ride big waves on the Super Splash ride.  Hurricane, in Fantasyland is exhilarating while the kiddies will like Fairy Tales Land with Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Don't miss the train in Dream Garden that takes you thru caves, past lakes and Fantasyland. Dream World Plaza with its 7 Wonders Of The World, The Pyramids, The Coliseum, Great Wall of China, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Taj Mahal, Ankor Wat, and Stonehenge will spellbound you and be sure to catch the dolls at the Dream World Clock and there is a convenient Information and Souvenir shop located there as well.
 

                     FANTASIA LAGOON

Fantasia Lagoon at The Mall Sitting on the rooftop of the Mall Department Store, Fantasia Lagoon's has been a favorite destination for kids & families to have fun and splash about. Waterslides & whirlpools are some of the highlights to enjoy here. Also worth a visit, and hard to refuse, if you have kids, is Fantasia Island, the adjoining theme park that also offers loads of fun, all in an air-conditioned comfort!

            Samutprakarn Crocodile Farm & Zoo

Crocodile Farm in Bangkok Drive 25 km southward of Bangkok to the home of 30,000 crocodiles, with the so called "World's largest Crocodile Farm" that's in Samut Prakarn. An established breeding farm for over 30 years, the crocodile farm also hosts thousands of fresh and salt water varieties, plus  South American Caimans & some Nile Crocodiles. A photographer's paradise, along the zoo's shady walkways while coming face-to-face with exotic animals. Relive the past at the The Dinosaur Museum, where the past comes to life. There are more than 13 species of life-size creatures of dinosaurs and skeletons on display, and a slide multi-vision presenting stories on extinct animals and human beings. Enjoy the ride on an elephant around or a camel, relax in a pedal boat on the lake, monkey around on the playground, test your skills at our shooting range or come aboard the zoo's mini-train for a sight seeing trip. Visitors can take pictures with a crocodile, an elephant or a tiger. Shop for crocodile leather or fish skin handbags, belts, shoes and many more interesting souvenirs of the farm.

DUSIT ZOO

Dusit Zoo in Bangkok Dusit Zoo is one of the better quality zoos in all of South East Asia offering an incredible variety of birds, mammals and reptiles. With more than 47 acres of animals in natural habitats, the zoo is a welcome break from the traffic, noise and smog of the rest of Bangkok and it's also filled with family-oriented activities. There is a huge lake where people enjoy pedalos. Kid's will like the Children's Zoo area where there are often new arrivals to the zoo that guests can view. Dusit Zoo is also a park with plenty of grass for picnics and resting with friends. There are snack shops, a KFC, and plenty of vendors to help quench that thirst.” It makes for a fun day out as the Dusit Zoo is highly recommended. The zoo is open 8AM to 9PM.
