Just a short walk from the BTS Thong Lo skytrain station is Soi 49 where you will find Duilio's Sukhumvit authentic Italian dining venu. You may dine in the comfort of the indoors or "al fresco" in a lovely covered garden setting. Pizza is made in an authentic Italian wood-fire oven. The manager is on hand to ensure customers have a great dining experience.
Another great dining experience is set at Duilio's Tawana Hotel location. It not only serves the same genuine home-style Italian cuisine as the location on Sukhumvit, but also offers an extremely comfortable. There is a fantastic lounge area and a wine bar. Steps from the Saladaeng BTS and Patpong entertainment center, the restaurant offers the Silom/Surawong area a superb experience in Italian cuisine.
My two friends and I visited Sukhumvit and entered through the terrace to eat in the comfort of air-conditioning indoors. The dining area offers traditional Italian table covers and conveniently spaced tables. There's a huge choice of a la carte selections devised with separate categories. The first, offering 22 different authentic types of pizza. There are numerous soups, appetizers and 12 salads of which we ordered a "Chicken Caesar". There's two pages of mouth-watering pasta, meat dishes, such as, tenderloin, fillets, pork & lamb chops, steaks and more. We selected many different dishes as we often do when we visit a restaurant for the first time. We started with a bottle of Italian wine while pondering the menu. My advice is not to overcommit to pizza. Some are terrific, like the "Pizza AI Frutti di Mare" with fresh tomatoes, mussels, squid, shrimp and parsley with a perfect crust which makes for a zesty pie but there's also some dishes that have the winning simplicity that defines Italian food at its best as does the "Fusilli All' Italiana", which is fusilli with fresh tomatoes, garlic, mozzarella, basil and olives. We also chose the "Spaghetti Alla Pescatora" (available with linguini) stuffed with seafood & fresh tomatoes. Another great dish is "Pennette alla Siciliana", prefectly cooked penne with a tomato sauce and eggplant. Our final pasta choice was "Rigatoni Alla Duilio's" a dish of rigatoni with bolognese sauce, cream, mozzarella, ham and mushrooms. We each topped off our fantastic meal with a portion of authentic "Homemade Tiramisu".
The wine list offers a moderately priced selection of Italian, French and Australian wines while the staff is friendly and prompt. Lunch offers 8 three-course set menu choices starting at 250 baht and the best deal in town with any salad at 99 baht, pasta 149 baht, and any pizza only 169 baht.. Both locations offer home delivery plus party and catering services.
