Well known for its energetic Greek-style evening entertainment in the form of plate smashing, and waiters displaying unusual dance moves, their restaurant at the Orchard Hotel is classy without being pretentious, with earthy colors and warmth, typical of the Mediterranean lifestyle.
The executive lunch at $28.50 is a perfect way to sample traditional Mediterranean food. Starting with soup or salad you then choose between paella Espana, bouillabaisse with vegetables and seafood, Moroccan couscous and skewers followed by dessert or fresh fruit and coffee, tea or a soft drink. We were presented with an iron rack with a juicy chicken skewer hanging over a hot plate, and a jacket spud as an accompaniment. Ther soup and salad lunch is priced at $15.50+++, which would be more than sufficient to satisfy a healthy hunger. Or you may opt for the pasta and salad priced at $18.50+++ where you get to choose the type of pasta you want with a choice of sauces - alfredo, napoletana or vongole - alongside a bowl of greens. When it comes to dessert, the tiramisu is possibly the best you’ll find in Singapore but the crčeme brulee may fight for first place. |
