Phuket is Thailand's largest island with magnificent coves, bays, & white beaches. The lush tropical landscape provides numerous sporting and leisure pleasures. Return to Phuket Restaurant Guide
Dining, of course, offers those touristy places, but there is great local food, often at a very reasonable price, and usually within walking distance of your hotel. When in Thailand, Thai-style dining is a must, with a group of people receiving an individual plate of rice and all sharing from a number of a la carte dishes. Fantastic cuisines from the world are offered to guests as many restaurants (often located within hotels) cater to patrons with the freshest, and most quality local and imported ingredients.
Seafood Restaurants
There’s seafood displays outside many restaurants along the main beaches, but getting off the beach roads will bring you to many quaint, small eateries that don’t demand tourist prices but offer fantastic fresh seafood. Phuket offers a great variety of seafood and fish with it's savory taste & sweet smell. Fresh from the sea, supplies of fish, prawn, crab, Phuket lobster and other shellfish are readily available. Cape Panwa is a favorite place to go and relax by the sea, watch the sunset and let the kids play on a nice clean beach. Friendship Beach is more expensive but the location is great. On Koh Sirey, there are several small eateries which receives practically no tourist business. It’s inexpensive, by the sea, and peacefully relaxing.
Phuket Town
Phuket Town and areas on the fringe of the town have numerous choices to dine. Chen Long is one of the many “all-you-can-eat” buffet places around town, situated between Big C and Central.
Noodles!
If you’re in search of a bowl of noodles or Quinteow, it normally only costs 25 - 35 baht and there’s probably a noodle shop on every street corner. Phad Thai is fried noodles and you can often add chicken, pork or shrimp. An alternate to noodle soup, this popular dish is also a great quick lunch.
