Your first introduced to the restaurant by a walkway thru a lovely Japanese garden with koi ponds that lead to a large dining area with teppanyaki tables and tatami in an atmosphere reminiscent of a 17th century farmhouse built with keyaki wood..
The menu offers a full range of Japanese cuisine - kaiseki, sushi, sashimi, sukiyaki, shabu shabu, tempura, teppanyaki, and robatayaki. A good starter is the soft-shell crab sushi hand roll or the firefly squid in thick soya sauce. There are some nice choices of sashimi (assorted raw fish), such as, raw sliced lobster or kobe beef sashimi. There are various teppanyaki dishes that include combinations of beef steak, seafood, chicken and lobster. The hot pot options of duck and vegetable; assorted seafood, chicken, mixed vegetables and udon; beef shabu shabu are served as sets with sashimi or tempura, rice or noodles and miso soup. The teppanyaki-kaiseki is a stupendous array of appetisers, soup, sashimi or tempura, simmered dishes, vegetables and the beef and seafood teppanyaki.
Apart from having a good selection of hot and cold sake, there is also a good choice of wines available from the hotel cellar. |
