On the ground floor of the Imperial Queen's Park Hotel is this noteworthy Thai restaurant. It's rather small size is very intimate and sets with a view of the park. Although it is in a first-class hotel, the prices are surprisingly reasonable.
Two associates and myself were meeting for dinner at the Thai restaurant, Lai Thong's, at the Imperial Queen's Park Hotel. We were hot, thirsty and twice as hungry and each ordered a Heineken and an appetizer, from the choice of about ten, as soon as we sat down. One ordered the Spicy Chicken with Pandanus Essence and two of us ordered the Deep-Fried Fish Cakes. We passed on the soup but myself and the other gentleman ordered from the choice of ten salads. He had the Hot & Sour Seafood Salad and I tried the Deep-Fried Marinated Crabmeat and Minced Pork topped with Salty Yolk. For our main dish, she tried the Grilled Seabass wrapped in Pandanus Leaves, he had the Fried Shrimps with Chilli Paste, Fish Flakes & Lotus Seeds and I had the Deep-Fried Whole Fish topped with Chilli Sauce. We also wanted to try a Curry, so we all shared the Green & Sweet Curry with Prawns. The food was too much as we also ordered Stir-Fried Broccoli and an order of Stir-Fried Vegetables in Oyster Sauce, however there was enough for a couple of lunches for tomorrow as I like to order heavy to taste a variety of the restaurant's specialties. The restaurant also offers three selections of Thai dips, grill items and rice & noodle choices.
