Typical of many of the small restaurants lining Staunton Street in Soho, this small sized restaurant has a few cross daggers and dark wood masks with folk-art tablecloths to dress up the stark decor. Nepal specializes in Royal Nepalese cuisine, typified by regional dishes offered two hundred and fifty years ago in the many small states from the peak of Mount Everest to the southern Tarai border with India, of which Nepal is composed today. As a result, the cuisine may have names of dishes that resemble those of Indian cuisine, but the food has delicious spices and flavors all of its own. Nepalese cuisine is diverse and flavourful, reflecting many different Royal cuisines.

The menu begins with suruwat, or starters, such as Momocha; fresh home-made dumpling with your choice of lamb, chicken or vegetable. You may order it steamed or fried. Another popular starter is Aloo Chop; Nepali Potato Pancake marinated in fresh Nepalese herbs and then fried. There are 5 selections of rash or soup and 3 salads. Portions are fairly small and not too oily so patrons can feel comfortable in ordering many different items. There are 5 each of lamb and chicken dishes and 4 seafood and clay-pot selections.

Vegetarians will be impressed with the choice of at least 15 garden fresh vegetable dishes while diners that prefer their food very hot, there are 5 choices of khursani bari. There are also rice specialties and about 5 yoghurt or ice cream desserts.

Generally, Himalayan Ilam Tea or Royal Nepalese coffee are the preferred drink but there are a limited number of wines that marry fairly well with the cuisine.
