Nicholini's, voted the best Italian restaurant outside Italy by the President of Italy in 1998 is a charming and elegant setting on two levels, with eye-catching, hand-painted screens of sheer organza fabric. Beautiful Italian Scavo glass centrepieces decorate the tables, and at the entrance, a display cabinet holds some fine works of Murano glass. The soft watercolour prints, greens and blues in the decor are repeated in the wonderful hand-painted screens and plates.
Nicholini's specialises in authentic Northern Italian cuisine. This traditional fare is cooked to precision with pasta perfectly al dente and seafood is not overcooked. Nicholini's presents an extraordinary menu which includes a selection of authentic dishes. Try the Antipasti with such delights as pan-fired Gooseliver with Baby Zucchini and Champagne Caviar Sauce, or Lobster salad with Vermouth dressing or the Angel Hair Pasta with Maine lobster, fresh Tomato, and Basil -- is available as either a side dish or a main course.. Tempting main courses include Venetian Squid Ink Noodles with assorted Seafood and Tomato Sauce, and Braised Veal Shank in a Vegetable Orange-flavored Sauce served with Saffron Risotto.
