Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant is one of the most popular Chinese Restaurants in Beijing. The oldest and most venerable of the roast duck restaurants, eventhough some feel Quanjude
is slipping these days, its fame still brings many customers, mostly tourists eager for the famed
experience. Ducks cost about ¥200 each and ¥99 for half a duck; yet quality varies by location.
The most reputable of Quanjude's 14 branches is the Qianmen location. Other branches are at
Hepingmen (south of the subway stop), the east side of Tiananmen Square, and Qinghua
Science Park near Wudaokou. Quanjude is spacious enough to comfortably accommodate
small and large groups with equal ease. The restaurant comprises as many as 41 large dining
halls with one that can host 600 guests at a time! For tourists, dining halls can be reserved
exclusively at the Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant, Beijing and as many as 2000 foreign guests can dine at one time. It boasts of being the “largest roast duck restaurant in "Beijing” capable of serving 5000 meals a day and is a must visit not only for locals but tourists as well.

What makes the Beijing duck at Quanjude Restaurant exceptional is the particular care taken by
the restaurant's chefs to make the roast duck as lip-smacking as possible. The chefs at Beijing
Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant are masters in the art of roast duck preparation and every step involved in the cooking technique is performed with utmost skill. The average weight of a Beijing duck used at Quanjude Restaurant is approximately 2.5 kg (5.5 lbs) and efforts are made to ensure that only the best quality ducks are chosen and cooked for the guests. Besides this, the ingredients used in its preparation, as well as the type of wood used for burning in the oven
also matter in the cooking of their roast duck. The result: unusually soft yet crisp roast duck that
simply melts in your mouth! Simply, hard to resist.

Some of the major dishes prepared from several parts of the duck at Quanjude include boiled duck liver, hot and spicy shredded duck wing, mustard duck web and seasoned duck gizzard.
