This simple, yet elegant, restaurant is dimly lit providing a romantic atmosphere, however, it makes it difficult to read the fine print. Sitting by the window allows a view of the fountains of KLCC park. The menu can best be described as Western with Chinese and Japanese influences with equal attractions for meat and fish enthusiasts.
A good way to start a meal is the oyster mornay. A creatively cooked generous-sized dish with fresh and plump oysters having warm and flavorful spinach with gratin that has the perfect blend of cheeses. The crab and mushroom soups are good appetizer choices but the best soup is the five onion soup topped with gruyere cheese. Typical bread or rolls is replaced with Chinese man tou. Fish lovers will appreciate the glazed cod with kai lan, with it's fresh texture, but without an overpowering taste of the glaze. Meat eaters will certainly enjoy the house specialty, the tender beef fillet medallion, balanced by the gratinated Oriental-style vegetables.
Don't mention a diet. Desserts are not to be missed and the gingered creme brulee, hazelnut parfait, and blueberry cheesecake are each worth the visit. |
