Restaurant Suntory offers an authentic Japanese experience, right down from the setting, all the way to the food and service. The restaurant is gorgeously furnished to resemble a Japanese fine dinning hall and the food is traditional yet innovative. The modern style interior design is made using wood, bamboo, natural stone and Japanese style soil wall.
Fresh seafood, flown in direct from Japan, is the highlight of the menu, which includes a wide range of Bento set meals (ranging from S$20 upwards) and traditional Kaiseki dinners, ideal for special occasions and business dinners. Set lunch promotion changes every month. If you are having the Kaiseki set, then you'll get a good first impression with the cold starter of summer squash, wasabe marinated chicken filler, and winter melon with sesame sauce. Next, a clear soup of bean curd, broad bean and yuzu citron flower. Then comes the seared tuna sashimi presented on a bowl of ice with a choice of bamboo leaf-wrapped sushi, fried prawn, round patties of fish cake omelet and simmered sweet potato, grilled salmon with cheese and simmered chicken and rice roll. This is followed by simmered kashiwa mochi - prawn, scallop and shiitake mushroom in a potato cake, served warm, almond-crusted minced prawn ball, chilled noodles and rice cake with red bean compote. Of course there is the seasonal sashimi platter, some modern sushi rolls, and Australian wagyu beef sashimi. Finish off the meal with the yuzu lime sorbet. |
