Restaurant walls are covered mostly with buffalo and indian motifs as "Tatonka" means Buffalo. Opened in late 1996 by globetrotting chef Harold Schwarz, Tatonka has had an ever increasing following by local residents and return vacationers alike.Featuring a timeless unique style of mainly Asian ,Latino and Mediterranean influences, he calls it Globetrotter Cuisine, constantly evolving and creating new dishes.

Harold has taken a hands-on approach to building up a faithful clientele through precise methods of food preparation and presentation. Dishes he creates are fresh and different than found at most Laguna satellite restaurants and his creations of North American, notably Cajun, blended with Asian dishes are outstanding.

Only fresh produce from local markets personally selected by the chef is used in the open kitchen. Cooking techniques and spices from various ethnic cuisine’s combined with local produce, have resulted in unique combinations such as Sashimi Springrolls, Shrimp Taquitos, Thai Bouillabaisse, Blackened Tuna on Honey Wasabi or Peking Duck Pizza.

Appetizers include tapas, and notably a Tapas Platter that offers an assortment of appetizers. The platter includes things, such as, Buffalo Mozzarella on skewers brushed with lime basil oil over crispy flatbread or Smoked Salmon with sour cream, lettuce, and fresh corn-sala wrapped in a soft tortilla. The Farmers Salad is a generous size dish offering a balsamic dressing. Main courses include the fresh catches of the day while dessert includes a broad range of fresh fruits, cheeses and ice cream.

Appetizers range from 150 – 200 baht, while main courses range from 275 – 560 baht. Wines are plentiful with selections from most New World Vineyards as well as French Bordeaux and Spanish Rioja with the house wine a very good value.

The staff is polite, friendly and well-spoken
