This is a very casual diner style restaurant that sits in C.P. Tower on Silom Road across from the Patpong entertainment area. It is on the same floor as the True Service Center and the Sizzler restaurant. I have walked past it a million times before never thinking about giving it a second glance. The entrance offers large photos of dishes of Thai food that they offer and since it appeared so inexpensive, I just figured it wasn't much to mention …well, I was wrong. The prices are very reasonable, and of course the portions aren't huge, allowing for a great opportunity for 2 or more persons to select multiple choices of food and share.
My girlfriend and I selected dishes from their regular menu as well as food from their promotion called "Thai Fusion". It is hard to go anywhere and not enjoy a plate of Somtam, it wasn't overly spicy, and at 39 baht it's more than a bargain. From the fusion menu we chose the Grilled Lemongrass Chicken that was prepared with a Green Curry Sauce atop a serving of Jasmine Rice. Next up was Stir-fried Penne Pasta with a Basil Sauce and Tuna, and to my surprise, the dish came with a generous amount of chunks of tuna. Lastly we had the Stir-fried Soba Noodle with Spicy Basil Sauce and Shrimps. A perfect dish a bit on the spicy side, this was a great choice at only 75 baht, the sauce was delicious with the pasta perfectly prepared and finished with two large shrimps on top. I wished we ordered another.
For something casual and a good taste of Thai food at a very reasonable price, this is certainly one of those little dining secrets …around town. |
