Situated in the Miramar Shopping Center, the restaurant is lined with green carpets, however, the main interest is the quality food. There is also a location on the Second Floor of the New World Tower on Queen's Road Central.
Attracted by mostly Chinese clientele, the restaurant boasts some award-winning Asian favorites. The focus is on various creations of shark's fin, bird's nest, abalone and some subtle soups. The seafood, along with the tender vegetables, beef and poultry are also well represented. Fans of shark's fin soup will devour the steamed "Foo-Yung" crab claws with asparagus, bamboo fungus, and superior shark's fin. Appetizers start with a house specialty of barbecued pork with a sweet sauce that easily feeds two. There are some classic favorites that include fried noodles with a choice of various toppings, or braised vegetables with Chinese ham and bamboo pith. An excellent fish is the steamed spot garoupa with hashima while the simmered goose with plum and rock sugar is delicious. Speaking of poultry, the stewed duck with assorted abalone, sea cucumber, and fish maw is also a favorite of locals.
The wine selection is limited and may not be such a big deal as most patrons usually opt for tea or beer but there is a representation of a few mainstream French, Chilean and Australian whites and reds along with Champagne.
Immaculately dressed, waitstaff is particularly tuned to giving advice on selections for diners. So much, that it can be a bit intimidating. |
