Zambuca's stylish interior of silver candelabras and white orchids is balanced with a dash of solid and olive green that is enhanced by a beautiful display of 2,000 wine bottles.
Nestled on level 3 of Pan Pacific Singapore, Zambuca Italian Restaurant and Bar is a sophisticated Italian fine dining establishment offering innovative Italian dishes served with flair amongst traditional favorites.
The pan-fried buffalo mozzarella wrapped in parma ham with olive pesto and chilli marjoram is balanced by a small serving of rocket lettuce. Those who find this a little heavy should order the caramelised purple figs with mascarpone. It's a light, fluffy cheese served cold with sauteed pancetta, warm sweet figs, and basil-herb salad. The best course of the evening was undoubtedly the truffle ravioli, made fresh with the usual ricotta and potatoes and simply divine in its soft silky texture, thin pasta casing and perfect blend of herbs and cream in the sauce with a shavings of black norcia truffle gracing the top.
For mains, the steamed brill (European saltwater flatfish) offers a textural contrast of fresh herbs, bietola leaves, plump sultanas, pine nuts and, the light, white flesh of the fish. Another great fish choice is the black cod with grilled prawns. Meat-lovers can opt for the brilliantly prepared thyme-scented lamb cutlets, grilled oyster mushrooms and mashed potatoes or beef tenderloin, each served with a feast of vegetables.
A wine list of over 2,000 labels is well-balanced with Old and New World wines.
The restaurant serves its classic egg-less tiramisu made with mascarpone cheese & amaretto crumbs. A great alternate dessert is the cassata siciliana, a Sicilian specialty made from strawberry and vanilla ice cream chocked full of whole pistachios, dried apricot and dried coconut. Be assured, this experience should not be denied. |
